My Nutrition, Fitness & Triathlon Principles
I don't compete and just do it for fun - at least that is what I tell people.

Triathlons provide me with goals throughout the year that help me maintain my fitness and motivate me to eat well and stay in shape for as long as I can. Also I have realized that the energy I gain from triathlons helps me excel in my professional and personal life which is an extra bonus.

2013 was the year I caught the Triathlon bug in India (luckily no other bugs caught).

Since 2009 I have been working on getting in shape and through continuos improvement I have managed to lose nearly 35 lbs of fat. I made most of my progress in 2011 and at the end of 2012. In 2013 for the first time I considered a Triathlon as my overall fitness level was gradually increasing and I needed something to challenge me further.

I only had three months to prepare but it was more than enough. Despite the 37C heat, hilly course and hard conditions to train in, I managed 3rd place by overall time in the Hyderabad Olympic Triathlon category. For my first Triathlon that was a major boost in confidence and for 2014 I am planning 2 Olympic length Triathlons as a preparation for Ironman 70.3 in September.
